Furnell off to a flyer in 2026

Furnell Residential is celebrating a strong start to the new year after achieving more than £15 million in completed sales during January.

The independent, family-run estate agent sold property across a wide range of locations, including Thorner, Bramham, Collingham, Linton, Bramhope, Shadwell, East Keswick, Bardsey, Allerton Bywater, Tadcaster, Newton Kyme and Wetherby.

During the same period, Furnell was also instructed on properties with a combined value of over £17 million.

These results position the Bardsey-based firm as the number one performing agent in the area for January, with sales 35% higher than the next best-performing agent and new instructions double that of its closest competitor.

In addition, the team carried out more than 450 viewings and completed over 60 market appraisals during the month.

Commenting on the performance, Managing Director Ben Furnell said:

“The subdued nature of the economy towards the end of last year, largely due to the Budget, has been followed by a renewed air of confidence as we entered 2026.

“It would seem that buyers and sellers who have been sitting on their hands have now decided it is the right time to make a move. This often happens after Christmas, when the functionality of the current home comes under the greatest scrutiny.

“While the market remains fragile, the overall outlook is reasonably optimistic.”
