thinking of moving? it's time to spring into action

If you are thinking of moving house then now is the perfect time to spring into action.

The changing seasons greatly influence property sales in the UK and spring is traditionally one of the best times of year to put your house up for sale.

Historically the industry sees an increase in buyers entering the market in the next few months, especially those with young children who are keen to secure places at their preferred choice of school in advance of the new academic year.

Spring also has a number of other advantages including more opportunities for viewings thanks to the longer days and better weather. Meanwhile, with gardens coming into full bloom the majority of properties look at their best and the odd vase of fresh flowers dotted around the home does wonders for the overall presentation and crucial 'first impression.'

However marketing a property in the spring means any areas of neglect are more easily highlighted so a good spring clean, both inside and out, will be time well spent.

Ben Furnell, Managing Director of Furnell Residential, said: "Spring is certainly a popular time for people to think about moving but this doesn't guarantee success. A successful house sale is still heavily dependent on choosing the right agent with a strong knowledge of the local market, a reputation for exceptional customer service and a proven track record.

"At Furnell Residential our percentage sold subject to contract versus available stock remains higher than the majority of agents in the area which is why more and more people are choosing us to sell their property."
